Serene was born from a very real problem that people from many different domains faced.
The war for your attention.
What we were offering was something that existed beyond a traditional B2C SaaS product.
It created a distraction-free environment that included focus music, countdown timers, and regular breaks which had been scientifcally proven to help you stay focused and execute a clear plan.
We facilitated this by creating sessions to help break down your goal into manageble chunks.
Establishing the MVP.
The first objective was to validate the feasability of creating an product that blocked other products was. Was it even possible?
We established that that the product could be created using Electron.js which could be compiled cross-platform for a native desktop experience.
We worked alongside the agency Brainhub to bring the idea to life and produce the inital MVP to see how far we could take the feature set.
To the MVP, and beyond!🚀
Once the MVP was ready it was time to release it.
We launched Serene on Product Hunt and received loads of great, positive feedback.
There seemed to be a consistent thread in the stream of feature request we were getting from our users.
The ability for your session to be orchestrated across the context of a team- sow we set off in this direction.
People adopted the concept well and admitted the product offered a solution to a very real problem they faced, they simply wanted more.
One day🌱, one goal. 🥅
One of the most significant developments that allowed us to take Serene to the next level was implementing a backend using Firebase.
This greatly improved the user experience by adding realtime data interactions which allowed a much more reactive experience.
This also opened the door for a more collaborative and open experience for users who signed up for the team plan.
